Our Philosophy

Scribbles Learning House’s educational philosophy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia teaching methodology. We are also committed to providing an emergent and creative curriculum.

Emergent and Creative Curriculum

The curriculum is designed around children's interests, integrating hands-on learning through art, music, and age-appropriate activities. It supports development across various areas, including motor skills, emotional and social growth, and literacy.

Multi-Age Classroom

The multi-age setting fosters peer learning, where younger children benefit from interactions with older peers, and older children reinforce their knowledge by mentoring. This structure allows for tailored learning experiences that accommodate developmental needs.

Commitment to Passion for Learning

Scribbles Learning House promotes a love for learning through skilled teaching, a progressive program, and a stimulating environment, encouraging children to explore and understand the world around them.

Key Principles of Reggio Emilia at Scribbles Learning House

  • Child-Centered: Emphasizes individual potential and a constructivist approach to learning.
  • Relationship-Driven: Highlights the importance of relationships among children, teachers, families, and the community, encouraging collaboration and observation.
  • Experiential Learning: Promotes self-directed exploration through discovery and play.
  • Symbolic Representation: Encourages creative expression through various media, enhancing cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Role of Teachers: Teachers act as partners and researchers, guiding and observing children’s interests.
  • Role of Parents: Parents are active participants in the educational process.
  • Environment as the Third Teacher: A flexible, engaging environment that reflects children’s learning and interests.
